David Quek | Chief Executive Officer
As CEO, David is actively involved in Cuprina’s medical device commercialization strategy, regulatory affairs, and overall operations.
David held the position of brand manager at ABR Holdings, a Singapore company listed on the Singapore Exchange, or SGX. In this role, he was responsible for executing marketing campaigns across various brands. Subsequently, he served as the business development director at OEL Holdings, another Singapore company listed on the SGX in the medical devices industry. During his tenure at OEL, David was responsible for expanding the medical device portfolio, managing strategic partnerships and overseeing medical device sales.
Carl Baptista | Chief Technology Officer
With expertise in biosciences and entomology, Carl drives the company’s technical and product innovation, clinical affairs, and communications.
Carl has held various roles, including technical director and managing director at Origin Holdings, a Singapore-based company operating in the environmental services industry. Carl also served as a biotechnologist at Brandenburg UK Limited, a United Kingdom-based manufacturing company specializing in products for monitoring pests in structures. During his tenure, his research on insect phototaxis contributed to the successful filing of three international patents, with Carl being listed as a named inventor.
Dr Naresh Waran | Head of R&D
Naresh is a Good Clinical Practice (GCP)-certified cell biologist with vast experience pertaining to stem cells culture. Prior to joining Cuprina, he was a senior regulatory specialist at the Singapore Health Sciences Authority (HSA), where he focused on clinical trial applications and health product legislations. Dr. Waran was also a postdoctoral researcher at the Singapore- MIT Alliance for Research & Technology Center, and a research fellow at Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) Singapore.
Jey Chan | Financial Controller
With 10 years experience in accounting, finance and audit, Jey is primarily responsible for overseeing financial functions, tax and corporate secretarial matters. He has previously held various positions including manager, assistant manager, audit supervisor and audit senior at Ernst & Young in Singapore and Malaysia, as well as audit manager at PKF-CAP LLP, a member firm of the PKF International Limited network. Jey also served as a finance manager at OEL Holdings, a Singapore company listed on the SGX.
